Warhammer 40K Space Marines 2 might just be your perfect entry point into the world of 40K! Over the weekend, we had the chance to dive into the game, and WOW—this is exactly what I've been missing out on!
Do you need to play the first game?
While Space Marine 2 continues the story of Captain Titus, the protagonist from the first game, you don’t need to have played the original to enjoy it. The sequel is designed to be accessible for newcomers, providing enough context to understand the plot and Captain Titus’s role in the universe without any confusion.
What’s in store?
The Game Modes
Currently, players can enjoy up to three game modes with their friends:
1.Campaign
You can team up with up to two friends in the campaign missions.
2.PVE
One of my favourite game modes—and here’s why: You can use your own customized Space Marines instead of being restricted to the campaign characters. This lets you and your friends show off your favourite legion and "drip." The mode also supports up to three players.
3.PVP
The only mode where you can play with five friends against six other players—12 in total. Since I’m not great at PVP, I didn’t spend as much time here. But if I had to pick a favourite between TDM, Domination, and King of the Hill, I’d go with King of the Hill. Yes, to the camping life!
*Please note that all game modes except PVP support crossplay! PVP is restricted to players on the same platform due to balancing issues. (Console > Console , PC > PC)
Building your own marine and style
Another great feature of the game is the extensive customization. There are about six classes to choose from, each with tons of skin options to customize. This ensures that no two marines look or feel the same, allowing you to create a truly unique character. – Dark Angels for the win!
