Elden Ring Nightreign feels more like a Dungeons & Dragons campaign than a typical Souls game. You’ve got three nights, random events, and a party of Nightfarers to get it done. Think less “git gud,” more “don’t split the party.”
So, what’s a Nightfarer?
First thing you will notice is that Elden Ring Nightreign does not come with character customization. That’s because you get to choose between eight Nightfarer to play as in your three nights journey. They’re pre-made heroes you choose at the start of each run, think classes in D&D. Each Nightfarer has their own weapons, abilities, and playstyle. No custom builds here just raw skill, teamwork, and chaos.
Some examples are:
Ironeye: Literally hawkeye. Swift and unwavering, let your arrows bring death. May your aim be true, and cut through the darkness.
Recluse: YOU SHALL NOT PASS—I mean, if you love shooting arcane damage in Elden Ring, this one’s for you.
Raider: A true vanguard. Stand resolute in chaos. A fearless heart carves the path through the Night’s tide.
The Everchanging world of Limveld

Limveld is alive and it hates you. Shifting layouts, ambushes when you least want them, and random events that can turn the tide or bury your run. No two expeditions feel the same, and luck rarely shows mercy.
Don’t forget the Night lord!

“Band together, and prepare to claim. The life of the Night Lord.”

Surviving two nights doesn’t mean you’re out of danger, your final night will bring you face-to-face with the very force pulling the strings behind all the chaos, the Night Lord. Prepare to earn your survival... or lose it all.
Nightreign is not a DLC

New to Elden Ring? No problem. Nightreign is a fully standalone adventure, no need to grind through the original game or beat Shadow of the Erdtree first. Just jump in, pick a Nightfarer, and dive headfirst into the chaos. However, as this is a standalone game, it’s unlikely that any progression or item from previous Elden Ring series will carry over to this new game.
